A Web Designer Needs To Understand The Clients’ Aims & Goals

One of the most important skills a Web Designer must possess is ‘communication’. Communication skills involves the not only the ability to talk but to listen as well. Right from the first contact with a prospective client a Web Designer must be able to communicate on the same level.

To design the website that the client has visualized and is expecting the Web Designer practically needs to get in side his clients head. It is then the skills of a Web Designer to create a professional website that will portray the business and its requirements and target the right audience.

A Web Designer needs to understand the clients’ aims and goals to be able to proceed in the pre-planning stage of the website design.

All the information text has to be structured, organised and consistent throughout the web pages, using the same style and font where necessary. This is all part of the pre-planning stage that a Web Designer can build on to create a custom built website.

Once the overall outline of the pre-planning stage is approved and accepted by a client the Web Designer can move on to the next stage of graphical illustration, maybe using a contemporary colour scheme for the visual effect.

This is where the skills of the Web Designer are really tested because if they haven’t understood and seen through the eyes of the clients lots of redesigns will be necessary. No two minds can be in perfect sync all the time so some redesigns are quite expected by the Web Designer.
